Out of the Studio:
Writing and Drawing in Three Dimensons

Join apexart and ISCP in a conversation between current apexart resident Stefan Çapaliku (Albania) and ISCP residents Miha Presker and Luiza Margan (Slovenia), who are working in the literary and visual arts, respectively. In spite of their relative geographic proximity, the artists and writer have noted the vast cultural differences between Albania and Slovenia and they will take this rare opportunity to speak about bringing their artistic mediums into new realms.

Stefan Çapaliku was born in 1965 in Shkodra, Albania. He studied Albanian language and literature at the University of Tirana from 1984 to 1988 and did a doctorate in Albanian literature from 1990 to 1995. He teaches at the Academy of Art in Tirana, faculty of drama. An accomplished poet and playwright, Çapaliku work has been translated into Polish, French, and English. He was recommended for an apexart reisdency by Adrian Paci, visual artist, Albania/Italy.

Luiza Margan and Miha Presker's collaborative works include installations, photography and drawing.in their installations they explore the structure of images and their transformation through light interventions, often using layers of drawings and an overhead projector as a basis. Those installations explore relations of objects and projections in space. Margan and Presker are Young Visual Artists Awards (a project of the Foundation for Civil Society) receipients, currently in residence at ISCP.
