apexart once again partners with high school students from Satellite Academy to present a group exhibition of contemporary artists. The student curators organize all aspects of the project including developing interpretations of artists' works, writing publicity materials, and developing the exhibition theme.

For the 2010 exhibition “iEmotions-Means of Emotions” that will take place at apexart New York, an exhibition attempting to link observations about the impact of cybernetics and digital media on our everyday relationships, curated by students from Satellite Academy High School Forsyth Campus and organized by ABACA.

The cybernetic invasion and computers have aggressively rendered daily life and relationships impotent. The exhibition “iEmotions-Means of Emotions” will explore how the consistent access to the internet in the western world has synthesized emotions. The selected work for this exhibition will critique the cybernetic myth about the emancipated access of useful information, and the fairy tale of global networking and sharing. It will attempt to demystify the democratic political claim of the cybernetic thesis and to take a closer look at how we define, perceive and describe emotions now in a post-TV world. The selected work will be featured in the final exhibition at apexart in New York City from May 26 to June 5, 2010.
