Fellowship Program

Name: Rebecca Key
Visiting From: Liverpool, UK
Dates of Fellowship: April 30 - May 28, 2009
Recommended by: Paul Luckraft
curator and artist in Manchester, UK

Rebecca Key has exhibited both nationally and internationally, and also works as an art director in the film and television industry. In 2010 she had her first US solo exhibition at Transformer Gallery in Washington, D.C. Rebecca creates installations that question the creative process and explore the background narrative of artists, artworks and galleries. In her work she references buildings where galleries are housed, their social contexts and their associated preconceptions.
"Key creates installations that examine social space. She has previously created an arts administrator's office in a gallery space, a creative inversion that ought to have been too near the knuckle for many." --a-n magazine
