Stella Brennan's work examines technology, obsolescence and utopianism. Recent projects include a
video examining the 1979 Erebus Disaster, in which an Air New Zealand sightseeing plane crashed
into the Antarctic mountain. White Wall/Black Hole was shown at last year's Sydney Biennale.
Wet Social Sculpture, an installation featuring whale song, psychedelic film and a fully operational
spa pool was selected as a finalist in the 2006 Walters Prize, New Zealand's most prestigious art
award.
Stella is co-founder of Aotearoa Digital Arts (http://ada.waikato.ac.nz),
New Zealand's only discussion list dedicated to New Media Art. She is deputy chair of the Artspace
Aotearoa board of Trustees. She teaches at AUT University.
