Reid Nicholls was born in 1983 in Ohio, where he studied and received his BA in Visual Communications Technology at Bowling Green State University. He studied ceramics at Hunter College in New York City and is a teaching assistant there, and also works as the Art & Music Department lab technician at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Nicholls is a painter, sculptor, and ceramic artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. His current body of work centers on systems, both those we are born into and those that are self imposed. His focus is on illustrating and highlighting the contradictions and complications that come with society's necessary institutions.
