Pavel Sterec (b. 1985) has studied at several studios at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Studio of Photography at the Prague School of Applied Arts. Since 2015 he has been head of the Intermedia Studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts BUT in Brno. His work is based on social encounters, which he transforms into conceptual installations. His works reinterpret cultural links and natural phenomena, and undertake an engaged criticism of the social and political status quo. Sterec has presented his work at numerous exhibitions, mainly in Central and Eastern Europe.
